Hidalgo County Commissioners' Court met in session on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 and considered an agenda that included the following highlights:
COURT APPROVES K-9 "LUKE"
Constable Pct. 1 Deputy Salvador Quiroz and K-9 Luke
Hidalgo County Commissioners' Court approved the acceptance of a donation of K-9 Luke, a labrador mix, from Mr. Billy Smith, Director of the K-9 Program at Jobcorp Facilities in Laredo, Texas, to the Office of Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 1 Celestino Avila. Luke will be trained in narcotics and will provide K-9 and support and criminal enforcement to the Constable's office and other agencies.
LOCAL DATA ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTED
Commissioners' Court approved the appointments to the Hidalgo County Local Data Advisory Board, as required by HB 2730, Article 21, which requires counties to maintain the disposition completeness percentage at or above 90% compliance. Failure to maintain this completeness rate could affect funding allocations to Counties. The advisory board will review the County's Data Recovery Improvement Plan (DRIP) and determine any action moving forward, including adopting and submission of the DRIP to the Texas DPS. The County initially appointed a Local Data Advisory Board in 2009, and has maintained compliance with the requirement. The new appointees will work to ensure that the County continues to remain at the 90% disposition completeness rate. The appointees are:
Richard Wade, Developer & System Engineer - District Attorney's Office
Lt. Richard Ozuna, Sheriff’s designee
Kelley McCormick, Felony Prosecutor - District Attorney's Office
Monica Auger, Misdemeanor Prosecutor - District Attorney's Office
Adriana Garcia, District Clerk’s designee
Annette Muniz, County Clerk’s designee
Victor Rodriguez, Chief of Police - City of McAllen
Renan Ramirez, Hidalgo County Chief Information Officer
COURT RE-APPOINTS RUNNELS TO RMA
Commissioners' Court approved the re-appointment of County Commissioner Precinct 4 Joseph Palacios' appointee Forrest Runnels to the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority. Runnels will serve a term from 2/2/12 through 2/1/14.
