Valde Guerra has been working for Hidalgo County since 1987 under various administrations in the County Judge’s Office.

In 2002 the Budget Office was created and Mr. Guerra was appointed as Budget Officer. In 2007 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Effective October 09, 2007, Mr. Guerra was appointed by Commissioners' Court to oversee and provide management direction to all County departments under the direct control of the Court.

The Department of Budget & Management continues to provide management and technical assistance to all County departments as needed.
